Evelyn initially gained a diploma in Librarianship at Leeds Polytechnic, and pursued a career as both an academic and music librarian. Subsequently, she obtained a degree in Art and Music with the Open University.

Later in life, she studied botanical illustration with Moya Davern and Sarah Adams – both RHS Gold Medallists in botanical illustration – and pursued a range of watercolour courses at the University of Wales. She also has an RHS diploma in horticulture.

Evelyn has lived in Wales for 36 years, and is married, with two children. She now enjoys being a watercolour painter in Brecon and Pembrokeshire, having also worked in Ceredigion.
